| General Manager for CRECEA CHINA writes CSR article for Denmark’s leading Business magazine |
General Manager Søren Albertsen has recently contributed with a chapter in a new hand book: “Borsens CSR Handbooks”.
Borsen is Denmark’s leading Business magazine. The Chapter is in Danish, but the main contents is that:
A small step in the right direction regarding CSR is better than no step at all. This means that even though the right approach to CSR is made by formulation a CSR policy and involving all stakeholders, a small and less systematic step, often has to be the pragmatic and realistic start for especially small and medium sized companies. These small steps will, however, end up in a mess, if they are not sooner or later qualified by use of qualified internal resources - or an external consultant.
Another point in the article is that CSR consists of both voluntary contributions and legal compliance. Which comes first is not really the important question. The point is that a company starts where it has its main risks, resources or enthusiasm - and thereafter the company creates its own CSR vision including both charity and compliance. A few - very advanced companies are able to create the full overview and vision from day one - but that should not prevent less advanced companies from taking their first CSR step.
